Song of the Day: Eye of the Tiger - SurvivorFinal check-in and questions meeting (optional) on Teams at 10:30 AM to make-up for the great technology debacle of OH-20 yesterday; again, I am so sorry I was late for that due to technology issues related to helping AP Human Geo. Most importantly, just breathe, take one task at a time, and believe in yourself. This exam is under really strange circumstances this year. No matter what happens, it will all be okay in the end - even if technology fails and you have to do the make-up date. You are MORE than a test score or a grade - this test is only a snapshot of how you do on one day; while it's important to do well it's also important to understand that one test score alone can never fully capture your growth, efforts, and experiences. Those are the things you'll take with you beyond my course. That said, here we go: TIPS FOR TODAY:1. Consult the AP Exam Checklist this morning, just as a way to check you've got everything you need in order. (Ignore sections for classes you aren't taking, like World Languages, etc.)
2. Get organized and ready before 1:30 PM hits -
3. Make sure your devices are fully charged, and keep them plugged in during the exam if possible to prevent battery failure. 2. Remember, if in Montana, you need to click your e-Ticket and get your exam logistics set up with the College Board starting at 1:30 PM.
3. Accept that there might be a portion or part of a question, that you may not know very well - you're human and are not expected to know every single fact ever. Instead focus on what you DO know related to the topic, because often there are many right answers as long as they are logical and well explained with examples of your reasoning. 4. Check the timer at regular intervals - turn it in when you hit the 5-minute turn in period (when it turns red). You can still do very well, even if your exam isn't quite finished or you're missing your last sentence. You CANNOT do well if you don't get it turned in. 5. If you have technology issues, DON'T PANIC. If during the exam, your browser crashes or what not - try to log back in using your e-ticket quickly (this has happened to some students yesterday and they were able to get back in within 1 minute and were just fine).
6. Statistically, it is likely one of you may have a technology failure - we just can't control the system from a technology standpoint. If a technology issue or personal emergency prevents you from taking the exam successfully, please fill out this form within 48 hours to sign up for a re-take; you will need information off of your e-ticket to make this request: Click Here for AP Makeup Testing Request Form 7. Remember, if you are caught cheating your name will be submitted to OUR school (which could potentially bar you from future clubs such as National Honor Society as cheating is a major moral and behavior violation), as well as any college or University that you may apply to which requires SAT or ACT scores for admittance. It is NOT worth it - do not collaborate with or talk to your classmates during the exam, or copy information from web resources.
