FINAL THOUGHTS AND WRAP-UPHello everyone,
First, it's been a privilege and a pleasure to work with you this year and I wish I could have continued to work with you in person. You rose up and met the challenges of a difficult and historical year; I am proud of you in your efforts. This wasn't easy. For any of us. I hope you all have a wonderful, safe, and fun-filled summer - you deserve it. Logistical reminders for ending this year: By June 10th, be sure you've completed any work (current, missing, or make-up) that you need to. Also, let me know by that date whether you will take your letter grade or the pass option (only S2; requires a minimum of 60%); if I don't hear from you on that - I'll default to your letter grade. Be sure you return your textbooks and library books following this schedule: JUNIORS June 8TH, Monday – 10-3pm SOPHOMORES June 9th, Tuesday – 10-3pm FRESHMEN June 10th, Wednesday – 10-3pm If you checked out a Chromebook; you will keep it through the fall just in case it is determined that we'll need to start school remotely. If we do not start remotely, you will return it upon school beginning next year - watch for updates. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out and ask. All the best, Ms. Pierce

Across all classes, not just mine, what methods and elements did you find most helpful in regard to remote learning during Quarter 4? If you are behind in my class or are not happy with your grade, you are welcome to still turn in late work and re-do incomplete assignments through June 10th. If you need help with any of this, please let me know. I would also encourage you to take this time, to reach out to other teachers whose classes you may want to recover or improve in as well. These things unfortunately happen. I will be here to help you study or whatever else you may need from me as you prepare for that make-up date!
What about the rest of this week?? This week, I want to give you a breather and allow you flexibility to do the following as needed:
We'll pick up with some new activities to end the year on starting Monday, May 18th! Song of the DAy: Bon Iver - PDLIFMost importantly, just breathe, take one task at a time, and believe in yourself. This is your first AP Exam and it's under really strange circumstances this year. No matter what happens, it will all be okay in the end. You are MORE than a test score or a grade - this test is only a snapshot of how you do on one day; while it's important to do well it's also important to understand that one test score alone can never fully capture your growth, efforts, and experiences. Those are the things you'll take with you beyond my course. That said, here we go: Tips for today:1. Consult the AP Exam Checklist this morning.
2. Get organized before 1:30 PM hits -
3. Make sure your devices are fully charged, and keep them plugged in during the exam if possible to prevent battery failure. 2. Remember, if in Montana, you need to click your e-Ticket and get your exam logistics set up with the College Board starting at 1:30 PM. 3. Accept that there might be a portion or part of a question, that you may not know very well - you're human and are not expected to know every single fact ever. Instead focus on what you DO know related to the topic, because often there are many right answers as long as they are logical and well explained with examples of your reasoning. 4. Check the timer at regular intervals - turn it in when you hit the 5-minute turn in period (when it turns red). You can still do very well, even if your exam isn't quite finished or you're missing your last sentence. You CANNOT do well if you don't get it turned in. 5. If you have technology issues, DON'T PANIC. If during the exam, your browser crashes or what not - try to log back in using your e-ticket quickly (this has happened to some students yesterday and they were able to get back in within 1 minute and were just fine). 6. If a technology issue or personal emergency prevents you from taking the exam successfully, please fill out this form within 48 hours to sign up for a re-take; you will need information off of your e-ticket to make this request: Click Here for AP Makeup Testing Request Form 7. Remember, if you are caught cheating your name will be submitted to OUR school (which could potential bar you from future clubs such as National Honor Society as cheating is a major moral and behavior violation), as well as any college or University that you may apply to which requires SAT or ACT scores for admittance. It is NOT worth it - do not collaborate with or talk to your classmates during the exam, or copy information from web resources. SONG OF THE DAY: WALK ON THE MOON - LUKE MITRANIOptional Microsoft Team meeting at 2:00 PM today, if there are any final exam questions you would like to ask via video meeting. Please watch your student e-mail for an invite. DUE BY 11:59 PM:Final "Review Menu" Activities due by the end of the day. Also, complete the Exam Demo if you have not yet done so to ensure you know what to do that day and that your technology will work. CLASS ACTIVITY: PLEASE STUDY AS NEEDED FOR YOUR AP EXAM Your exam will be on Tuesday 5/12 at 2:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (if you are in a different state in a different time zone, please check in with me for the specific time you need).
Please use your e-ticket to log in and get set up at 1:30 PM on the day of the test. If you have questions as you are studying, PLEASE ask me. SONG OF THE DAY: Sweet Caroline - Neil DiamondAs your test is TUESDAY, you should receive your e-ticket in your e-mail that you registered with this Sunday. Please watch for that and keep it in a safe place; maybe make a special folder in your e-mail inbox for it.
